Science

This year has been a time of change and growth for the Science Department. While we bid farewell to three of our teachers who migrated abroad, we were fortunate to welcome a new member in Term 3. Despite these changes, the team has remained committed to fostering a deep love for science among our students, encouraging them to explore, question, and understand the world around them.

Science subjects provide our students with the tools to unlock the secrets of life and matter, helping them make sense of the universe in all its complexity. Whether investigating the smallest particles or studying the intricacies of ecosystems, our students are guided to see science not just as a subject, but as a way of thinking and discovering.

In 2024, we continued to build on our tradition of excellence in both academic and extracurricular activities. Our students have shown resilience, curiosity, and enthusiasm throughout the year, and we are incredibly proud of their achievements. Among these was the outstanding performance of Elijah Rao from Year 13S, who secured second place in the ChemQuiz for the Suva zone. This was a moment of great pride for the department, and it reflects the dedication and hard work of both
students and teachers alike.

We are also grateful to The Chemical Society of the South Pacific for their support in providing enriching opportunities for our students. Through various competitions and events, including Science Awareness programs, the Titration Competition, BioKnowledge Battle, ChemKnowledge Battle, and ChemQuiz, our students have broadened their horizons and sharpened their scientific skills.

As we close this chapter of 2024, we look forward with optimism, anticipating excellent exam results and continued success. May your hard work pay off and lead you to even greater achievements in the future.
