Greetings to all “Zeal 2024” readers!

As we reflect on 2024, it has undoubtedly been a year of challenges for our department. I would like to commend the exceptional efforts of 12 dedicated team members who have tirelessly worked to uphold our mission and vision. Their commitment to advancing Language and Literature development at Suva Muslim College has been truly remarkable.

Our department takes pride in addressing the diverse learning needs of our students by offering a wide array of intramural co-curricular activities to foster their growth. We actively participated in extracurricular events, including the essay competitions organized by the New Zealand High Commission and Westpac. A heartfelt thank you goes to our students for their diligence and enthusiasm in seizing these opportunities.

This year, we also celebrated Library Week, where students from both junior and senior classes showcased their creativity through various competitions, including poster design and storybook creation. We were delighted to see our school library enhanced with an expanded selection of fiction books, and we are deeply grateful to the administrative team for their invaluable support in enriching our library resources.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the students and language teachers for their contributions to the successful teaching and learning of languages in our school. The presence of such dedicated educators has not only boosted the morale of our department but has also helped us achieve our ultimate goal of success.

I appreciate the administrative team for placing their trust in me to lead the largest department in the school.

Finally, on behalf of the Language Department, I wish all students sitting for the External Examinations great success. Let’s strive for an even more remarkable 2025!
