Islamiyat

Department Report:

In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.

Acquire knowledge and teach it to the people. Learn dignity and tranquillity, for there is no good in this life and in the Hereafter except for those who possess knowledge.” – Ibn Majah.

Our school community, rich in diversity, thrives through the guiding principles of Islamic teachings. These teachings act as a vibrant thread, weaving together unity, understanding, and appreciation for the values that define our shared journey.

From the pillars of faith to the intricate beauty of Islamic art and culture, this report invites you to explore the multifaceted dimensions of Islam that enrich our academic environment. These elements are fundamental to shaping our collective experiences and nurturing the moral fabric of our community.

Inspired by the belief that “knowledge should be sought from the cradle to the grave,” our college remains committed to the broader goal of producing morally upright citizens with exemplary values and behaviour. As part of this mission, several religious activities were organized throughout the year. We celebrated Shab-e-Baraat, Meeraj-un-Nabi, and Eid-ul-Fitr, during which sweets and Sawai were distributed. Additionally, our students actively participated in the Ramadhan Sehri program on Radio Fiji 2.

The Islamiyat Department also organized a successful department week, where students enthusiastically participated in Islamic quizzes, Nazm singing, and Hadith learning activities. Moreover, the college places a strong emphasis on Quranic education, with regular morning Quran reading sessions. The day begins with the recitation of Asma-ul-Husna, Surah Yaseen, and Hadith recitations by our students. Many of our students are proficient in leading Zohar and
Juma Salah, and are capable of delivering the Khutbah (sermon).

In conclusion, I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our college principal, administration, management, staff, and students for their unwavering support and cooperation in all our endeavours.
